Prairie Sunlight

The Prairie Sunlight II Solar Project is a 24.5 megawatt (MW) solar facility, located on 160 acres of private land in M.D. of Taber, Alberta, south of the Town of Vauxhall.

​​

The project is estimated to offset 29,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 6,000 Alberta homes.

The solar farm is energized and operational, reaching full commercial operation in Q2 of 2020, and continuing over the next 30 years and beyond. This solar farm,

Strathmore

The Strathmore Solar Farm is a 40.5 megawatt (MW) solar facility located on 320 acres of industrial use Town land in the Town of Strathmore, Alberta, immediately adjacent
to the AltaLink Strathmore Substation. Solar Krafte sold the project to Capital Power in 2020 and Capital Power is currently constructing the project.


The project is estimated to offset 48,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 10,000 Alberta homes.​

Wrentham

The proposed Wrentham Solar Project is a 41.4 megawatt (MW) solar facility, located on 334 acres of private land in the County of Warner, Alberta, east of the Hamlet of Wrentham.

 

The project is estimated to offset 17,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 10,300 Alberta homes.

The total capital cost of the project is expected to exceed $65 million, bringing an important source of direct and indirect economic activity to the County of Warner and the Hamlet of Wrentham.

Brooks

The proposed Brooks Solar Farm is a 400 megawatt (MW) solar facility located on 2,800 acres of private land in the County of Newell, Alberta, west of the City of Brooks, immediately adjacent to the AltaLink Cassils Substation.

The project is estimated to offset 470,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 90,000 Alberta homes.

Vauxhall

The Vauxhall Solar Farm is a 60 megawatt (MW) solar facility, located on approximately 940 acres of private land in the M.D. of Taber, Alberta, near the Town of Vauxhall.

The project is estimated to offset 70,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 14,000 Alberta homes.

Spring Coulee

The proposed Spring Coulee Solar Project is a 29.5 megawatt (MW) solar facility, located on 183 acres of private land in Cardston County, Alberta, south west of Spring Coulee, immediately adjacent to the Spring Coulee Substation.

 

The project is estimated to offset 35,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, generating enough electricity to power more than 5,000 Alberta homes.
